Equipping Pastor Tony Vila and Family

Pastor Tony Vila grew up in Pasadena, Texas. He was raised by Cuban parents and grew up speaking Spanish as a first language until he entered First grade and then soon became bi-lingual. He played his first concert in 1987, and began touring Texas as a singer songwriter at the age of 18. Being raised Catholic he learned to pray nightly, and was very influenced by his daily personal conversations with God; He soon became open to deeper relationship with Jesus. He began playing guitar, piano and leading worship at several Houston area Churches and quickly found an increasing desire to help people heal the wounds of life through a renewed relationship with Christ.  In 2004 he moved to San Antonio where he served as a Music Minister at Teen Challenge International. It was there that he began to experience a stronger call of God on his life. 

While working on staff in San Antonio, Tony was required to preach the Gospel every Tuesday morning for over 120 students. He then went on to receive his Biblical Teaching Certificate and Biblical Counseling Certification from Global TCI training Institute.  Tony returned to Pasadena where he completed his Minister requirements at Global University in the Berean School of the Bible to become a certified Minister with the Assemblies of God.

Since that time he has served as an associate youth pastor at Pearland First Assembly of God, and Sr. Spanish Pastor at Central Assembly of God in Pasadena.  He has also played numerous concerts leading original Spirit Filled Worship as the main singer/songwriter in “tvband “, opening up and playing with such artists as the Robbie Seay Band , The Swift and John Reuben.

Pastor Tony is a State Certified safe driving Instructor with “ Smith System “, and has achieved numerous recommendations and awards for his safety presentations for Cintas and Shell, most  recently attaining the “Goal Zero Accidents Contractor Award “at Shell Deer Park Refinery in 2008. His administrative and management experience includes working as an Operations Director and General Manager for several Hispanic restaurants in Houston, as well as the Chief Marketing Director for Chipotle in the Houston Market.

He is married to the “Love of his life” and prayer partner Kristie Vila and has three children: Colin 1, Melody 13 and Lyric 11. His hobbies include playing, singing and watching concerts with his son Colin, songwriting, painting, watching movies, bicycle spinning, Leadership training, and teaching.
